The Last Bastion of Mana
MFGJ SUMMER 2021 Game
Description
The Last Bastion Of Mana is a "Tower-Defense" style game where your goal is to survive as long as possible, keeping your city alive by building up your defense with walls and various towers. There is no "cost" for these towers and walls, as you can place as many as you want, but be wary - the more of each defense you have placed, the weaker they get!
You can repair the strength of your defenses with the points you earn from destroying enemies using the arrows next to the tower's name(300 points per upgrade).
Defenses
Wall - Strong Defense that Prevents The Swarm from Attacking Towers
Air Towers - Fires of a Blast of Air in all Directions, Dealing Damage to Enemies
Fire Towers - Fires A Flame in a Cone, Dealing Continuous Damage to Enemies
Fountains - Heals the Structures next to the Fountains
Tips
Don't just spam towers and walls - this is a good way to lose fast.
your towers can attack over a wall, use this to your advantage.
try selling towers with right click before they are destroyed to conserve their strength.
Have fun!

Cool idea, and I really like the stylised look you went for. The music was very chill as well. I found it a bit hard to play though with the mouse cursor. With no option to make it full screen, I was squinting to see a few times. I also had the itch.io icons on the side getting in the way of selecting towers, so a full screen option would be nice. But otherwise a fun game :)
The title screen music was so chill that I thought this was going to be a chill game. I did not expect that many enemies from the get-go 😂
The title screen is nice, and I really like the music. The stylized how to play is an interesting idea, but kinda hard to read.
Maybe have less enemies at the start? And it would be nice if the enemies had predefined roads that they would travel on, at least that's my preference with tower defense games.
Still, great job!
The main menu is really well made, and the concept is super nice as well, maybe scaling the amount of damage the enemies do a little bit slower as the minutes go by just to have a better gauge of what happens for the player, but aside from that, really well done!
All the sprites are clear and cool looking, nice main menu too. The air tower was visually a little ambiguous though. The gameplay was pretty fun. I found the mouse difficult to see and pretty small. I enjoyed what I played after my first trial of failure. A bug, couldn't switch from air tower, stopped me from getting a highscore :( I'd like to see sprites of the towers in the game hud and hotkeys for switching between them.
That'd be great if you can teach me your tips naturally through level design.
WOAH!!! This was intense! I was just kind of leisurely placing towers and then 8 million enemies showed up! Great job!
I like the concept a lot, and I managed to last five minutes (not sure if that's good or bad). It's an interesting idea and something that could be expanded upon. It would be nice if when a tower was destroyed you got some of the strength back, otherwise at the end all my towers were just as weak as they could be and I ended up spamming, which I get the feeling you didn't want me to do.
